When I first signed up for the Coach Course, I’ll be honest—I was nervous. The idea of being evaluated, tested, and stepping into a bigger role in the skydiving community made my stomach turn. Questions ran through my mind: Am I ready? What if I fail? What if others don’t believe in me the way I believe in myself?
But here’s the thing about fear: it’s not a stop sign, it’s a challenge.
Walking In With Nerves
The morning of the course, my nerves were loud. I wanted so badly to do well, and I couldn’t shake the thought of how some people might not think I was ready. But once I was there, in the classroom, surrounded by others who were also learning and pushing themselves, something shifted.
I realized—I belong here.

This Is My Place
The more I listened, participated, and threw myself into the exercises, the more comfortable I became. Every drill, every practice debrief, every scenario reminded me: I love this sport, and I want to be part of helping others grow in it.
Yes, I was nervous. Yes, I doubted myself. But step by step, I started to see that I can do this. I have the knowledge, the passion, and the willingness to learn. And more importantly, I realized that not everyone’s opinion of me matters. What matters is my dedication, my growth, and the effort I put into becoming a better skydiver—and future coach.
Looking Ahead
Walking away from the course, I felt proud. Not just for completing it, but for showing up, pushing through my nerves, and proving to myself that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
I know I still have a lot to learn, but my goal is clear: I want to be the best coach I can possibly be. I want to teach, guide, and support new skydivers so they can reach their full potential—just like others have done for me.
No matter what others think or say, I know I’ll be just fine. Because this is my place, my passion, and my journey—and I’m only getting started.
Blue Skies,
