Your Drop Zone Update: December 2025 Edition

Table of Contents

If you’ve jumped with us before, you already know this place doesn’t really shut down. The pace changes, the calendar spreads out a bit, and the conversations in the hangar get a little longer. Winter is when a lot of people step back, but it’s also when many of our best jumpers stay mentally engaged and connected to the sport.

This is one of those shoulder seasons where staying top of mind matters, not because we’re pushing urgency, but because this is how strong skydiving communities are built. You don’t lose momentum just because the weather shifts. You carry it forward.

Below is a mix of things worth reading, a couple of solid deals, and a look at what’s coming up over the next few months.

See It Before You Fly It: The Power of Visualization in Skydiving

Visualization isn’t just for elite athletes or competition teams. It’s something almost every experienced skydiver does, often without realizing it. Running through a dive flow in your head, picturing exits, imagining the canopy pattern, or mentally rehearsing emergency procedures all fall into the same category.

In this article, we break down how visualization works, why it matters, and how it applies whether you’re getting ready for your first tandem or dialing in skills as a licensed jumper. It’s about building confidence through familiarity and showing up prepared before your feet ever leave the plane.

This is a great off-season read, especially if you’re not jumping every weekend right now but still want to stay connected to the experience.

Deals and Gift Certificates

Jump Anniversary Deal

If you’re coming up on the anniversary of your first jump, we’ve got a simple way to mark it.

Book your tandem around your jump anniversary and you can lock in the same price you paid last year. No gimmicks, just a way to keep the tradition going and give yourself a reason to get back in the air. A lot of people treat that first jump as a milestone. This is an easy way to make it an annual one.

Birthday Deal and Gift Bags

Got a birthday coming up? Book within seven days of your birthday and you get the same anniversary pricing.

On top of that, you’ll get to pick from our birthday gift bags. One of the options includes a Skydive Colorado Springs jersey, which is worth $85. The odds are good, the prizes are solid, and it beats another dinner reservation you’ll forget about a week later.

Gift certificates also stay popular this time of year, especially for people who already know they want to come back. If someone in your life has been talking about jumping again, this is an easy nudge.

Winter Skydiving Weekends

Winter looks different here, but we still jump.

We plan one winter skydiving weekend each month during the off-season. These are limited dates, and everything is weather dependent. If we get weathered out, we’ll either slide to the next workable weekend or skip that month entirely depending on conditions.

If you’re curious about specific dates or how a particular weekend is shaping up, the best move is to give us a call. We’ll tell you straight what’s looking good and what isn’t.

Upcoming Winter Skydiving Weekends:

  • January 2–4
  • February 6–8

From the Community

One of the best parts of running a drop zone is seeing how wide the skydiving experience reaches. Different ages, different backgrounds, same moment in the door.

Here’s a recent review that stuck with us:

“This was such a great experience. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Everyone there made it a memory to last a lifetime. I’ll definitely be going back for more, this is something everyone should try at least once. There’s no age limit on new experiences. At 64 I was the oldest there but felt just as young as the rest floating through the air.”

— Perry Oshiro

That mindset is a big part of what keeps this place moving. Thanks for jumping with us, Perry!

See you in January,

The Skydive Colorado Springs Team
